Well, this will be short. I want to say that as a team, Maximus the Dog is coming together quite nicely. I play AD Carry for the team. We met a guy named Adam, or Pulsewidth, who plays support and was pretty damn good at it while playing some normals. Well, for some reason he kept playing with us, and we decided to make a 5's team. We don't expect to be very good, but we're hoping to make it to Silver one of these days!
We've kind of gone with a mix of Korean style & split push style thinking that it's the safest way to win a game. Since map pressure is the easiest way to protect your own base, we try to do crazy things like 2v1 lanes to get towers down quickly. Our 'top' lane guy, Derrick, or Ridiculoso, has been mastering Cho'Gath lately, because he can hold his own in a 1v2 lane pretty good. He may not get ridiculoso farm, but he can keep them off the tower generally. Well, for the lane I play in, we have been playing Janna and Caitlin a lot. It's an easy lane to push with, and with Janna's shield, we can take turrets down quicker than most duos. And if they stay on the turret, they usually get a Tornado and a Peacemaker to the face.
What we basically do is switch top and bottom lane, and hope that our 1v2 can hold out longer than theirs, then we switch it back. Taking early turrets not only gives an earlier gold advantage, but it demoralizes their team. Then, when we get later into the game, we keep the enemy in constant motion by pressuring turrets on all lanes. When they leave one lane to save another, we pressure that lane. Having the enemy reacting to our moves is much more enjoyable than reacting to theirs.
We're still searching for the perfect mid-lane champ for this to work, but I think we'll find it eventually. That's it for now!
